Fiona Yam, Physiotherapist
Fiona graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology with high honours from the University of Toronto and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2017 from Queen’s University.
Fiona truly believes in taking a holistic care and interdisciplinary approach to treating patients as this allows her and the rest of her team to focus on what they do best and optimize the time she has with the patient. Using evidence-based practice, her treatment includes exercise therapy, soft tissue release, manual therapy, cupping, taping, modalities, and most importantly patient education to allow her patient independence.
Fiona has worked with clients of all ages, and has a particular interest working with the geriatric population. She has completed courses in pelvic floor physiotherapy, soft tissue release and vestibular rehabilitation, and is a certified GLA:D trainer. In the near future, she will be taking courses in Mulligan Concept, McKenzie Method, and Orthopedics Level 1.
At the Vaughan Clinic, Fiona treats patients requiring pelvic floor therapies as well as those referred to follow the GLA:D protocol. Fiona also treats patients in their homes as part of the Homecare division of GTRC.
