Joanne graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Previous to this she obtained an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from McMaster University. Joanne has completed several post-graduate training courses in soft tissue release techniques, shoulder complex injuries, and lumbo-pelvic dysfunctions. She is registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is a member of the Orthopaedic and Sports physiotherapy divisions of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
As a therapist, Joanne believes in working collaboratively with patients in a holistic manner using manual therapy, soft tissue techniques and home exercises. She enjoys creating specifically tailored exercise programs that restore and maintain function. She is a firm believer in educating patients about their condition, providing postural correction and activity modification in order to treat and prevent re-injury.
To advance her clinical skills Joanne will be completing Acupuncture with the McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program.
When she is not in the clinic Joanne regularly participates in rock climbing, kayaking, running in charity events and competing in dragon boat regattas.
