Marc Chivilo completed his physiotherapy education in 2019 at Western University where he graduated with honours and received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, followed by his Master’s in Physiotherapy.
Marc’s passion for sport and fitness goes back to his time playing competitive soccer as a goalkeeper for Kleinburg-Nobleton Soccer Club. During this time, Marc had to overcome multiple injuries, which sparked his interest in the field of physiotherapy. Overcoming these injuries to return to a high level has given Marc a valuable patient perspective which he incorporates into his treatment sessions.
Marc’s evidence-based treatment approach is built around a foundation in exercise prescription, developed in his time working as an athletic trainer for the Western Men’s Rugby Team and London St. George’s Rugby Club. Marc is a strong believer in working with his patients to develop and achieve their functional goals, making the patient an active participant in their rehabilitation. Marc’s approach also places a strong emphasis on patient education, with the goal of allowing his patients to modify activities rather than avoid them while taking part in the rehabilitation process.
Marc has continued to further his knowledge and skills through participation in various courses on topics including soft tissue release and exercise prescription. Marc has also taken his Level 1 Orthopedic exam through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He hopes to continue furthering his knowledge by taking additional courses in the future.
Marc is currently working with the Richmond Hill Coyotes AAA Minor Midget Team, and continues to remain active, participating in weightlifting and recreational soccer.
